Schema 3.2 ReleasedIndicator

2/14/2013 - 3 Months Ago

12 February 2013, The Coast Guard released version 3.2 of the eNOAD schema.  Users will need to login and navigate to the Developer's Resources section to download the updated schema, all associated pick-lists, and documents.  Support for version 3.1 of the schema will continue; however all previous versions will be retired.  Details of the version 3.2 schema update follow:

A. Incorporation of CBP Form I-418 data fields:

- Will crew perform longshore work while vessel is in the United States (yes/no)
- Provide applicable INA Section 258 Exemption: (alphanumeric)
- Indicator in each crew record by which to specify persons working under the INA Section 258 Exemption

B. Implementation of increased validation of personnel data:

- In an effort to continue to improve data quality, submissions containing invalid or otherwise erroneous crew embarkation data will be rejected, necessitating correction and resubmission

C. Improved handling of arrival and departure data:

- As part of our ongoing effort to enhance maritime domain awareness, we continue to improve detection methods intended to preclude excessive reuse, abuse, or unwarranted extension of arrival and departure notices. While valid updates to these notices will be accommodated, positive measures have been and will continue to be put in place to ensure arrival notices and departure notices are traceable to discreet arrival and departure activities. Where ambiguities or submission irregularities are detected, a new Notice ID will be provided to submitters.
